About PACMRI
The Philippine Association of Communication and Media Research, Inc. is an organization of, for, and by scholars of Philippine and Filipino communication and media. It is the only and leading organization that caters to communication and media research.
Founded in 2019 by the UP Department of Communication Research, PACMRI envisions a knowledge-based society that values, uses, and innovates communication and media research. PACMRI endeavors to promote the systematic study of developments, changes, and challenges in Philippine communication and media, to contribute to enhancing the competencies of local communication and media researchers in conducting and disseminating scholarly works, and to facilitate the engagement of communication and media research practitioners and institutions in Philippine society.

Our Roots
The UP CMC Department of Communication Research presented the idea of a scholarly association at the 2015 National Communication Research Conference (NCRC). A Technical Working Group convened at the 2017 NCRC at the University of the Cordilleras in Baguio City. PACMRI was then launched at NCRC 2018. Events for 2019 were announced at the Communication Research International Conference (CRIC) 2019.
